The Wonder Stuff Announce 40th Anniversary Yorkshire Tour Dates

The Wonder Stuff

The Wonder Stuff have announced an extensive UK tour for October 2026, celebrating the alt-rock band’s 40th anniversary with a series of shows across Yorkshire. The tour marks four decades since the group’s formation and features a career-spanning set including hit singles and fan favourites such as ‘Unbearable’, ‘A Wish Away’, ‘Caught In My Shadow’, ‘Size of A Cow’, and ‘Don’t Let Me Know Down, Gently’. Joining the long-time line-up of Miles Hunt, Malc Treece, Erica Nockalls, Mark Gemini Thwaite, Tim Sewell, and Pete Howard as very special guests for the run will be Madchester legends Inspiral Carpets.

Reflecting on the milestone, frontman Miles Hunt noted that the original line-up first rehearsed together on March 19th 1986. He expressed his gratitude to the audiences that have remained loyal over the past forty years, stating it would be an honour to perform the old favourites for them during this anniversary run. The band originally signed to Polydor Records in 1987 and released four Top 20 albums between 1988 and 1994, including The Eight Legged Groove Machine and Never Loved Elvis, alongside their chart-topping collaboration ‘Dizzy’ with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.

Special guests Inspiral Carpets were a driving force of the late eighties and early nineties music scene, known for hits like ‘This Is How It Feels’ and a run of four UK Top 20 albums including Life and The Beast. The band shared their excitement for the upcoming dates, promising a set full of garage pop hits and a few surprises for the Yorkshire crowds. After initially disbanding in 1994, The Wonder Stuff reformed in 2000 and have since released five studio albums, with their most recent being 2016’s Better Than Being Lucky.

The Yorkshire leg of the anniversary celebrations begins on Saturday 03 October 2026 when the band performs with Inspiral Carpets at the Octagon in Sheffield, followed by a headline date at the O2 Academy in Leeds on Friday 16 October 2026. The regional run concludes on Thursday 22 October 2026 at the Spa Pavilion in Scarborough.
