Songwriting genius

The upcoming Yorkshire performances in Yorkshire will celebrate every chapter of the frontman’s story. From his early breakthroughs in the eighties as the frontman of Hull indie heroes The Housemartins through a run of era-defining hits with The Beautiful South, Heaton has carved out a singular place in British music. Audiences can expect a career-spanning setlist bringing together classic singles, fan favourites, and newer material from his upcoming 15-track album, Jenius, including the new single ‘Favourite Kind Of Idiot’.

With five Number 1 albums and some 15 million sales under his belt, Paul Heaton’s songwriting talents were recognised at the prestigious Ivor Awards in 2022 where he was presented with a long-overdue award for ‘Outstanding Song Collection’. This landmark nationwide run follows extensive touring and serves as a timely reminder that his melodic pop-rock sound and meticulous, effortless craftsmanship remain as vital as ever. Fans in Yorkshire can expect an evening that honours four decades of pure musical brilliance.
