Iconic former Stranglers frontman Hugh Cornwell is heading to Yorkshire later this year for a full band show at Holmfirth Picturedrome.
The gig is part of Cornwell’s newly announced UK tour and will feature a selection of Stranglers classics, solo tracks, and fan favourites.
With a catalogue that includes timeless tracks like ‘Golden Brown’, ‘Strange Little Girl’, ‘Always The Sun’, ‘Peaches’, ‘No More Heroes’ and ‘Nice & Sleazy’, Hugh Cornwell remains one of the most influential figures in British post-punk and new wave. As the main songwriter behind The Stranglers’ first ten albums, his legacy as a pioneering musician and lyricist is undisputed.
Described by Mojo as “still doing things his way and often with striking results” and by Uncut as delivering “thunderously tribal garage rock,” Cornwell continues to receive acclaim for his work both past and present.
Support comes from The Courettes, a high-energy duo from Denmark and Brazil. Blending Wall of Sound with Motown, R&B and garage rock, they have earned comparisons to a meeting between The Ronettes and The Ramones. Their latest album, The Soul Of The Fabulous Courettes, is out now via Damaged Goods Records and Rough Trade.
Tickets for Hugh Cornwell are on sale now via thegigcartel.com.
