Live music giants Cuffe & Taylor have announced a new wave of headline shows for summer 2026 at two of Yorkshire’s most iconic venues – Scarborough Open Air Theatre and Halifax’s Piece Hall.
The announcements include a genre-spanning mix of artists and events, with names such as Pete Tong, Embrace, Teddy Swims, Opeth and Billy Ocean all confirmed to perform in what’s set to be another record-breaking year of live music for the region.
Pete Tong and his world-famous Ibiza Classics show – featuring The Essential Orchestra – will bring dance anthems and orchestral reworks to the Yorkshire coast on Friday June 26. Following a sold-out show at the venue in 2023, his return to Scarborough is sure to be another standout night of the summer.
Two days later, on Sunday June 28, soul-pop legend Billy Ocean will perform a career-spanning set of hits including ‘Love Really Hurts Without You’, ‘Red Light Spells Danger’, ‘When The Going Gets Tough’ and GRAMMY-winning global smash ‘Caribbean Queen’. Joining him as very special guest is Marti Pellow, the beloved frontman of Wet Wet Wet and acclaimed solo performer. The show promises a double bill of timeless voices and pop anthems under the stars.
And after a huge rush for tickets, GRAMMY-nominated vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims has added a second show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre. With his first date on Wednesday July 22 now sold out, Swims will also perform on Thursday July 23, joined by rising star Jordan Rakei. The shows are part of Swims’ 2026 UK tour, following his record-breaking success with singles ‘Lose Control’ and ‘The Door’.
Billy Ocean will also head to Halifax next summer to bring his greatest hits to The Piece Hall, once again joined by Marti Pellow. Their Halifax date is part of a growing series of summer headline shows at the historic courtyard venue.
Joining the 2026 line-up is Calderdale’s very own Embrace, who return to The Piece Hall on Saturday June 13 to mark their 30th anniversary. Formed in nearby Bailiff Bridge, Embrace will be joined by Scottish alt-rock legends Idlewild and local favourites The Hazy Janes for what promises to be an unforgettable hometown celebration.
Opeth, the progressive rock titans from Sweden, are also set to play their only UK date of 2026 at The Piece Hall. The show, scheduled for Saturday August 1, forms part of the band’s Last Will & Testament World Tour, which has already included sold-out shows at Sydney Opera House and appearances at Bloodstock and Download festivals.
American singer-songwriter Ethel Cain also heads to Halifax next summer as she extends her sold-out Willoughby Tucker Forever tour into 2026 adding dates across the UK and Europe. This leg will see Cain perform some of her biggest headline shows including a date at TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall on Saturday June 20.
These shows join previously announced headliners including David Gray, Ethel Cain and The K’s, with many more to be confirmed over the coming months.
Following a record-breaking 2025 – with 185,000 tickets sold at The Piece Hall and more than 100,000 music fans attending Scarborough’s summer series – 2026 is already shaping up to be even bigger.
