The final headliners for the 2026 season of TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall have been revealed, with cinematic rock pioneers Public Service Broadcasting and Grammy winners Turnstile set to perform in Halifax this August. These additions take the number of headline shows at the historic venue to 42, officially marking the biggest outdoor gig series anywhere in the UK. The scale of this year’s programme is unprecedented, reflecting the venue’s growing status as a premier destination for international touring artists.
American rock luminaries Turnstile will head to West Yorkshire on Wednesday August 26 for a massive UK exclusive headline show. This performance marks the band’s only UK gig of 2026, making it an essential date for fans across the country. Fresh from a double triumph at the Grammy Awards where they claimed ‘Best Metal Performance’ for the song ‘Birds’ and ‘Best Rock Album’ for their incredible fourth studio LP Never Enough, the Baltimore five-piece are expected to deliver one of the hottest tickets of the summer. The band was also nominated for three further awards, including Best Rock Performance and Best Alternative Music Performance, cementing their position at the forefront of contemporary rock music.

2025 was a landmark year for the group, which saw Never Enough chart in the Top 10 in five countries, including the US, while playing to sold-out audiences worldwide. Since forming in 2010, the line-up of lead singer Brendan Yates, guitarists Pat McCrory and Meg Mills, bassist Franz Lyons, and drummer Daniel Fang has built a dedicated following through releases such as Nonstop Feeling, Time and Space, and Glow On. After their recent Grammy success, the band paid tribute to their loyal following, stating: “Thank you to anyone who has ever come to a show and swung in the dark with us!” Their Halifax date is set to bring an immense level of energy to the 6,000-capacity courtyard.
Joining the bill on Sunday August 23 are Public Service Broadcasting, bringing their unique blend of historic audio narratives and indie electronica to the venue. The performance marks the band’s only UK headline gig outside of London this summer, following a massive hometown show at Alexandra Palace which sold out in less than three days. Led by instrumentalist-auteur J. Willgoose, Esq., the group has been active since 2009 and has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most ambitious and original live acts. They are masters of conceptual pop historiography, depicting everything from humankind scaling Everest to the confronting of Nazism.
The band’s ability to weave stirring historic audio with rock, electronics, and orchestration has seen every one of their studio albums reach the UK Top 5. Their 2015 breakthrough The Race For Space topped the charts, followed by the critically acclaimed Every Valley and Bright Magic. Their most recent release, 2024’s The Last Flight, focused on the final voyage of pioneering female aviatrix Amelia Earhart, further proving their knack for emotive musical storytelling. Their immersive live performances are known for being deeply atmospheric, making the open-air setting of Halifax a perfect match for their cinematic soundscapes.
Public Service Broadcasting will be supported by special guests The Big Moon, the Mercury-nominated alt-pop quartet formed in London in 2014 by lead singer Juliette Jackson, guitarist Soph Nathan, bassist Celia Archer, and drummer Fern Ford. The band are widely respected for their breakthrough debut Love in the 4th Dimension, which was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize in 2017. Their 2022 release Here Is Everything became their first UK Top 10 album and featured singles including ‘Wide Eyes’, ‘Trouble’, and ‘This Love’. As one of the UK’s most original bands, they add significant weight to an already impressive evening of music.
These artists join a sensational summer roster that already includes headline shows from the likes of Hollywood Vampires, Paul Weller, Shed Seven, Madness, Skunk Anansie, Garbage, Sex Pistols, and Jimmy Eat World.
The venue’s record-breaking 2026 programme follows a string of accolades, including being named Inspirational Venue of The Year at the 2025 Northern Music Awards. With more than 19 million visitors since its reopening in 2017, the 66,000sq ft courtyard provides a backdrop on par with the great piazzas of Europe. This final reveal completes a diverse schedule that spans indie, rock, punk, and pop, ensuring the upcoming season will be the most significant in the site’s history.
