Leeds electronic music pioneers Utah Saints will return to their hometown next summer to curate and headline a brand-new, Ibiza-inspired outdoor dance event, as Club Classical Ibiza takes over Millennium Square on Friday 26 June 2026.
The one-night celebration will blend DJ culture with large-scale orchestral performance, bringing together Utah Saints, Leeds-based DJ and broadcaster Andi Durrant, and a special guest DJ yet to be announced, before the 50-piece Symphony Orchestra of Opera North joins the duo on stage for a full live collaboration.
The evening will culminate in a non-stop programme of iconic 90s dance anthems and club classics, featuring special guest vocalist Janice Robinson of Livin’ Joy, performing alongside a powerful ensemble of backing vocalists. More guest appearances are set to be revealed in the coming months.
Utah Saints — Jez Willis and Tim Garbutt — are widely recognised as one of the most influential acts to emerge from the UK’s early rave and electronic scene. Best known for their hook-heavy early-90s singles ‘Something Good’ and ‘What Can You Do For Me’, the duo have remained active across DJing, remixing and festival culture, while continuing to champion electronic music in Leeds and beyond.
Although they have previously performed alongside the Orchestra of Opera North, this marks the first time Utah Saints will present their own fully curated ‘club meets classical’ event. The show will include specially arranged orchestral versions of their best-known tracks, reimagined for a large-scale outdoor setting in the heart of the city.
Utah Saints said: “We’re really excited to bring this show back to Leeds. We’ve played with the Orchestra of Opera North before and it’s always an incredible experience, but being able to curate our own full summer event in our hometown makes it even more special. Leeds has been at the heart of everything we’ve done, and we can’t wait to share this huge night of dance music and orchestral power with everyone.”
Joining the bill as resident DJ is Andi Durrant, a long-standing figure in UK dance culture and co-founder of The Dance Music Archive — a multimedia platform celebrating the history of electronic and club music. Through his work on radio and as a DJ, Durrant has helped introduce classic dance records to new audiences while maintaining strong links with the scene’s roots.
The event also marks the return of dance music vocalist Janice Robinson, who will perform an orchestral rendition of Livin’ Joy’s ‘Dreamer’. Speaking about the collaboration, Robinson said: “I am thrilled to be returning to the stage with the incredible Opera North. The way Cliff and Steve arranged ‘Dreamer’ is simply breathtaking. I can’t wait for next summer’s performance; it’s going to be unforgettable.”
Club Classical Ibiza is the latest collaboration between Leeds City Council, Opera North and the producers of 80s Classical, which takes place on Millennium Square the following evening. Musical arrangements for the event are by composer and arranger Cliff Masterson, with Steve Anderson serving as Musical Director — a familiar name in 90s dance music and best known for his long-standing work with Kylie Minogue.
Tickets are priced at £35 general admission, or £32.50 for groups of four or more, and are available via millsqleeds.com, by telephone on 0113 376 0318, or in person from Leeds Ticket Hub at the Carriageworks Theatre.
Doors open at 6pm on Friday 26 June 2026, with DJs from 6.15pm and the main orchestral performance beginning at 9.15pm. The specially created outdoor arena will feature street-food traders and a fully licensed festival-style bar. Millennium Square is fully accessible, with a raised viewing platform, accessible toilets and a Changing Places high-dependency unit.
