Yorkshire’s biggest open-air venues are tuning up for another unforgettable summer, with a new wave of global stars and chart favourites added to the 2026 line-ups for TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall, Halifax, and TK Maxx presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre. From pop icons to pioneering rock acts and legendary songwriters, both venues are set for a spectacular season of live music – and there’s still more to come.
The 2026 calendar begins in style on Friday 5 June when Rick Astley returns to headline TK Maxx presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre. The ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ hitmaker last performed at the Yorkshire coast venue in 2024, and his return follows his acclaimed Reflection arena tour. Joining him on the night will be indie pop favourites Lottery Winners, fresh from their second Number 1 album KOKO.
Since first rising to fame in 1987, Rick has sold more than 40 million records worldwide, enjoyed a Number 2 chart position for his 2023 album Are We There Yet?, and wowed audiences at Glastonbury with his live shows. His return to Scarborough promises to be one of the highlights of the summer.

Just a few weeks later, two of alternative music’s most electrifying names come together as Garbage and Skunk Anansie share a double headline bill – performing at The Piece Hall on Tuesday 16 June and Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Saturday 20 June. On this special UK tour, the bands will alternate closing duties, with Garbage headlining in Halifax and Skunk Anansie closing in Scarborough.
Fronted by Shirley Manson, Garbage are known for redefining 90s alt-rock with ‘Stupid Girl’ and ‘Only Happy When It Rains’, while Skunk Anansie’s fearless frontwoman Skin remains one of the most dynamic performers in British rock, with anthems such as ‘Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good)’. The pairing brings two of music’s most powerful voices to Yorkshire for an unmissable live double act.

Next up, it’s all about Halifax when McFly return to The Piece Hall on Wednesday 24 June. Fresh from their sold-out Busted vs McFly arena run, the BRIT Award winners will be joined by Scottish rockers Twin Atlantic and viral sensations Remember Monday. With a back catalogue including ‘Five Colours in Her Hair’, ‘All About You’ and ‘Star Girl’, McFly’s high-energy live show is guaranteed to get the historic courtyard bouncing once again.
July belongs to the icons, and it begins with a double dose of Scottish favourites as Deacon Blue add a second Halifax date due to phenomenal demand. The band will now perform at The Piece Hall on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 July as part of The Great Western Road Trip Rolls On tour, joined both nights by special guests Lightning Seeds. Fans can expect singalong classics such as ‘Dignity’ and ‘Real Gone Kid’ alongside tracks from their latest top-three album The Great Western Road.
One of music’s most beloved storytellers then takes centre stage. James Taylor & His All-Star Band will perform two Yorkshire dates – at The Piece Hall on Thursday 16 July and Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Saturday 25 July. With a career spanning over five decades, the multiple GRAMMY Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will deliver timeless hits including ‘Fire and Rain’ and ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ in two of the UK’s most stunning settings.

Closing July in style, electronic music pioneer Gary Numan headlines The Piece Hall on Friday 31 July. Celebrating 45 years of his ground-breaking album Telekon, the Ivor Novello Award winner remains one of the most influential figures in electronic and rock music. He’ll be joined by special guests Ladytron, whose electro-pop anthems ‘Seventeen’ and ‘Destroy Everything You Touch’ continue to resonate with new generations of fans.
With these latest additions joining an already stellar line-up featuring Paul Weller, The Wombats, The Kooks, Tom Grennan, Embrace, Ethel Cain, The K’s, Alex James’ Britpop Classical, and more still to be announced, the 2026 live music season promises to be truly unforgettable across both Halifax and the Yorkshire coast.
