Seven-time GRAMMY Award winning artist Alanis Morissette is heading to the Yorkshire coast for an unmissable summer headline show. The iconic Canadian-American musician will play TK Maxx presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sunday July 5, marking one of just seven shows she is playing in the UK this year and serving as the final date of her tour.
Alanis Morissette is the final headliner to be revealed for the 2026 season at the venue. Her addition takes the number of shows at the UK’s largest open air arena to 28, marking the biggest summer line-up in the history of the site. This exclusive run of UK dates follows her hugely popular 2025 World Tour, which saw her play a limited run of sold-out UK dates alongside performances in South America and Europe, as well as a sensational debut on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.
For 30 years, Alanis Morissette has been one of the most influential artists in contemporary music. Her deeply expressive music and performances have earned vast critical praise and seven Grammy Awards. Morissette’s 1995 debut Jagged Little Pill was followed by nine more eclectic and acclaimed albums. Her music remains as current today as ever, with era-defining hits including ‘Ironic’, ‘You Oughta Know’, ‘Hand in My Pocket’, and ‘Thank U’.
The impact of her work has extended far beyond the charts. In 2019, Jagged Little Pill the musical made its Broadway debut and was nominated for 15 Tony Awards, winning two at the 2021 ceremony. Her live draw remains equally potent; in 2021, her sold-out world tour was the number one female-fronted tour of the year, while her 2024 North American Triple Moon Tour sold more than half a million tickets and packed every venue to capacity.
Beyond her music, Morissette is a dedicated supporter of female empowerment, as well as spiritual, psychological, and physical wellness. In 2016, she launched Conversation with Alanis Morissette, a monthly podcast featuring conversations with a variety of revered authors, doctors, educators, and therapists, covering a wide range of psychosocial topics extending from spirituality to developmentalism.
Julian Murray, of venue promoters Cuffe and Taylor, welcomed the final addition to the summer schedule, describing the singer as a cultural phenomenon. He noted that the concert promises to be an incredible night and expressed delight at bringing such a legendary artist to the Yorkshire coast to complete their record-breaking 2026 programme. Morissette joins a diverse summer line-up that includes Michael Bublé, James Arthur, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Richard Ashcroft, Scissor Sisters, Garbage, Skunk Anansie, and James Taylor.
