The Kooks Celebrate 20 Years of Inside In / Inside Out with Two Yorkshire Shows

Indie rockers The Kooks will celebrate two decades of hits with a pair of headline shows in Yorkshire next summer, marking the 20th anniversary of their debut album Inside In / Inside Out.

The band will perform at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Thursday June 18 before heading inland to headline The Piece Hall, Halifax on Friday June 19 as part of the TK Maxx presents Live summer series.

The announcement follows a landmark UK arena tour supporting the band’s seventh studio album Never/Know, which entered the Top 5 earlier this year. Their debut album, Inside In / Inside Out, released in 2006, sold more than two million copies and provided the soundtrack to a generation. Now, a new wave of fans has joined the faithful, giving their Britpop-tinged indie sound a fresh lease of life.

Having headlined major festivals and played sold-out international tours in 2025, The Kooks’ return to Yorkshire promises to be a celebratory experience for fans old and new. Expect singalongs to classics like ‘Naïve’ and ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’, as well as a showcase of their musical evolution—from jangly indie and synth-driven experiments to soulful influences and nods to songwriting greats like Dylan and The Stones.
