British singer-songwriter and influential YouTuber Mary Spender is embarking on an eight-date UK tour this September and October in support of her debut album Super. Sexy. Heartbreak.
Returning to the stage with a full band for her first headline tour since 2018, Mary’s tour kicks off in Liverpool on September 24. She will perform in cities across the UK, including Bristol, London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, and Cambridge, before concluding in Southampton on October 4. Full tour listings can be found below.
In her own words, Mary shares:
“The songs on Super. Sexy. Heartbreak. are the result of a few white-hot, intense and disastrous relationships, followed by very messy and painful breakups, and my ongoing desire for love and connection. It’s the album I’ve dreamt of making since I was fourteen, and I have everything to prove with these live shows. I was a touring musician long before I started making YouTube videos, and I’m so excited to play the album in-full with my amazing band, as well as a solo acoustic set to open. I’m giving myself nowhere to hide. I want to show people what I’m capable of.”
Mary Spender is a proudly independent artist who has become a trailblazer in the modern music industry. With over 94 million views on her YouTube channel, she has consistently championed artist independence, openly criticizing exploitative record label contracts and low compensation rates on streaming platforms like Spotify.
The success of her debut album Super. Sexy. Heartbreak. is a testament to her connection with her fanbase, with the project being fully fan-funded through Patreon and generating six-figure revenues from the sales of cassettes, CDs, and vinyl LPs.
Beyond music, Mary has established herself as an influential guitar expert, collaborating with top brands like Fender and Martin Guitars. Her reputation has earned her opportunities to share the stage with notable figures like Mark Ronson and jam with legends such as John Illsley of Dire Straits.
In 2023, Mary was honored at the Women’s International Music Network’s ‘She Rocks’ Awards, recognizing her contributions to the music industry. To coincide with her album release, she also launched her own signature guitar, ‘The Heartbreaker,’ created in partnership with boutique French-luthiers, Marceau Guitars. This custom guitar will be featured prominently during her upcoming tour.
