Between 18th and 21st July 2024, York Museum Gardens takes centre stage for the first-ever ‘Live at York Museum Gardens’ concert series. York residents enjoy a 48-hour exclusive window for ticket pre-sales. The series kicks off with York’s very own Shed Seven headlining two nights.

About York Museum Gardens

Nestled in the heart of York beside the River Ouse, York Museum Gardens originated in the 1830s by the Yorkshire Philosophical Society. The gardens, also home to the Yorkshire Museum, have become a cherished spot for both residents and tourists alike.

Formed in York in the early 90s, Shed Seven gained prominence during the Britpop era. With a collection of 15 Top 40 singles and four Top 10 albums, they remain one of the UK’s premier live acts. Their new album, ‘A Matter of Time’, releases on 12th January 2024.

“I have been heavily involved in the York music scene for 20 years and it has always been an ambition of mine to bring a live music event of this scale to the middle of the city with residents at the heart of it. The fact that we can start the event with the biggest band to come out of York makes it all the more special,” said Rachel Hill, Project Manager at Futuresound.

What’s Next for ‘Live at York Museum Gardens’

“These shows are just the start. We are already looking ahead to which international artists we can bring to Museum Gardens in 2025 to create more fantastic memory-filled nights for live music fans,” revealed Rachel Hill.

Regional Collaboration

Futuresound collaborates with regional suppliers to provide everything from event infrastructure to food outlets. Richard Saward, Head of Visitor Experience and Commercial, states, “We are excited that Futuresound will be bringing these brilliant shows to Museum Gardens. The gardens will provide a spectacular backdrop for some great nights of live music, as well as being good for the city and local businesses.”
